Welcome and thanks for your service. My concerns with the truck shown, the one without the front clip, would be fitment of the clip. Find out if the truck has ever been on the road since the front suspension and frame changes. The frame supports the front clip and if planning was not done when the frame was cut, you may have a problem.

Welcome to FTE! As long as you post pictures on a regular basis you will be fine here.
One thing that worries me about the truck pictured is saying it will take a couple of days to put back together. Maybe a couple of weeks of solid work. But you do have the tools and shop.

Be patient in finding what you want. If you can get one already drivable you will be much better off. If you are getting a great deal on the one pictured go for it, but don't rush. Be sure to keep us in the loop as to what you get. We love seeing builds of all kinds.

One cool thing is that if you ask for an opinion on something, you are sure to get multiple sides of the issue. It has really helped me think about what I really want when I ask those questions.

Thanks for the heads up. The truck was on the road with no other work done to it. Just taken down to get the front repainted because it started to peel. Talked to the owner again today and things are looking good for me. All paperwork is set and there, confirmed that the truck is essentially good to go with good motor, trans, and suspension. Just planning on reassembling it (jazz like power steering etc), full fluid change and firing it up. I was told it was a project that would take me a couple days so I set my expectations at having it together in a couple weeks. I don't need to rush anything myself.

I've also already arranged for an enclosed trailer to have all the parts and truck sent back to my house. My garage is slightly small but is a two car. I'll just park my other car outside now that the weather is getting nicer and have ample room to work.

My C63 is going to the dealer on Wednesday to be sold. I am going to have to get a premium dollar on the c63 in order to comfortably sell it so who knows how long that will take. I'm hoping a month or two. The owner hasn't publicly offered the truck for sale is does not intend to so I don't have to worry about it being sold out from under me.

The last thing I have to consider is what I want to get as my daily driver. I am going to be taking a big hit going from a c63 everything to something less extravagant, but I'm practically living paycheck to paycheck because of it and would like to get a comma into the savings account if you know what I mean.

I'll be sure to update as time goes on. I'll obviously start a thread once I get the truck but don't plan on that being any time too soon. Like I said, the stars still have to align a bit mostly on the sale of my c63. As for what I'll drive next I've been looking at a 2012+ bmw 550i, 2012+ x5, or something such as that, probably not everyone's cup of tea here either.

Thanks for the welcomes again.

Thank you for your service. You sound like you will do just fine
until one of them 18 or 20 year old cuties in your class room
catch your eye. Than you will have a hobby none of us can
afford but can't seem to live without until we get to be around
60. Than we are to damn old to work on the truck or chase the
girls. It's madding I tell ya. So try to find a Ford Truck Gal. They
are out there. Than Life can be sweet with the best of both. Until
she leaves and takes your truck.

Wow, that's depressing! I think I will just go upstairs, curl up and go to sleep!
