Introduction

Good Day All!

Im new here and just wanted to introduce myself and also take this time to ask a few general questions. I just purchased a 1949 F-1 Pickup. I hope Ill be able to gather a wealth of knowledge from this forum on its restoration and add some knowledge of my own as well! I have been in the late model custom truck scene for 5 years now but have always wanted to build an early Ford pickup. Now that Ive aquired one Im anxious for its build up.

Are there any other members in the Florida Panhandle? Im in Destin,FL (between Pensacola and Panama City). Would be great to meet up sometime or lend a hand in someone elses project.

Thanks!

Welcome, Joe. You've arrived at the place for answers and willing listeners for those of us with more to learn. You'll get some opinions and from time to time there is a certain amount of silliness to be found here. You will recognize those zanies who foster that kind of behavior without a scorecard.

I'm curious as to your plans for the F-1... one of the harder trucks to customize in my opinion. I think you'll find that you are glad that you have joined the fun and we are happy to have you aboard. best. himmelberg

Welcome aboard. I'm new here also, and these guys have been great. You'll probably find some people close by. I'm about 2,000 miles away, last year at this time I was using my snowmobile to rescue stranded country-folk after the blizzard...haha

Welcome Joe,

Charles AKA "Darkman" is from the Pensacola area. I'd bet he'll be back someday soon. He is a law enmforcement officer and has been working an incredible amount of hours since the hurricanes.

I'm partial to the 48-50s. Share some PICs when you can.

Hi Joe and welcome to the 48-60 forum .

I'd like to get a 48-49 myself one day and do it completely stock...that is if my wife will let me get another truck! 'Course I could always tell her it's for her.............
