So I just picked up a '65 f100. I want to lower it a little bit but am not ready to spend the money on drop I beams. If I cut the coil springs how much can I take out (lower the truck) before it's unable to be properly aligned? Any ideas are helpfull, thanks.

If you cut 1 1/2 coils out you'll be resting on the snubbers (trust me when I say no fun. The previous owner did it to mine). Actually, if you cut any out you won't be able to steer it or align it unless you have a shop close by that can heat and bend the beams you have. I have a set of drop-beams with all of the linkage, bushings, new king pins and brakes for sale if you're interested. I went with CV suspension after the beams didn't drop it enough for me.
Or consider a jag swap which also has been covered quite a bit. Also it has different track width which is an advantage if you wanna have a old school styling.
