If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I have an 07 f150 lariat 2wd and I'm looking to put a 3" lift on it and I found the lift I want but I'm looking at new rims and I don't know what all the back spacing and and bolt patterns mean. Could someone explain that to me? I wanna get either 20x9 or 18x9's and I have no idea what any of the other **** means. Thanks
Do you want to lift your truck for aesthetic or functional purposes, or both? If it's mainly for the look, maybe try to get a body kit lift, it shouldn't cost as much as a suspension lift. You can fit your truck with large diameter tires by then. But since you mentioned back spacing and bolt, i guess you want to install a suspension lift kit. Check out rancho or skyjackers, they work and look good.
Well yeah I found a skyjacker suspension lift that I like. The only thing is I have no idea what 4WP means when they say "5 on 5 bolt pattern" or "6 on 135" that's what I need explained.
From what I know, you have to check if your bolt pattern is compatible with the tires you want. I checked out your f150 model and yours can be fitted with 135mm bolt pattern tires. As for the "5 on 5" you were talking about, i think somebody with better knowledge should explain it. Hope this helps a little.
lol if you just want 3" you do not want a body lift. you can do the front end for less than $100 plus the cost of an alignment afterwards. rear is up to you depending on the stance you're looking for. you'll have more labor and money into a body lift, not to mention having to stare at the frame under the truck even more...
you need 6x135 bolt patttern. the end.
as far as backspacing, the LESS the offset number, the MORE they'll stick out... for example +25mm will keep them in pretty far, +12mm will push them out further, 0mm further out, -12mm even further yet, and so on.
