Ok im hopefully going to be getting a 1999 PSD 4x4 soon, I want to run a 38inch super swamper, What would be the cheapest way to do this? Also what is the Bolt pattern i need and what backspacing should i get, and is it possible to run a 15inch rim? Thank you for being patient
well i think you'll need a 6" lift min. the bolt pattern is 8x170mm not sure on the back spacing, also i dont think a 15" inch rim will clear the brakes. good luck with the truck
Im looking into the 10inch Superlift system for $2409.00, What do i need to go with this system or does it come with everything? Has anyone used this lift and do they think its a good deal and is it quality?
well with that kit you can definelty run the 38's. the kit is pretty complete, just get the biggest lift rear springs and use less block lift. for other stuff you might need a carrier bearing drop kit (depends if you have one or not) dual front and rear shocks wouldnt be a bad idea, traction bars help. keep the questions coming....someone else will probably chime in too
going that high in lift..did you consider the fact of possibly needing longer driveshafts? Then with the addition of BIGGER tires comes the gearing..don't know what gears are in the truck but if you notice a big power loss after the lift then the gears in the front and rear would need to be changed to make up for the tire difference. 15 inch rims can be used...but the brake calipers have to be shaved in order for the rim to fit over..i've done this on a rock buggy i built for hardcore offroading..after all the work..it would have been easier to buy rims that fit. Just somethings i've run into in over 14yrs of suspension lifts and building offroad rigs and things.
I think im going to go with the 8inche superlift after what help im syck said, i will probaly go with 4.56 gears later down the road, how do you know if the truck has the factory 4.30 gearing?
you have to know the axle code...should be inside of the door opening on the bottom, drivers side. once you get the axle code, if you look in the F.A.Q. they have the codes listed out..
