Converting Single master cylinder to dual
I have a 66 F100. I am trying to convert to a dual master cylinder. I purchased one from ORielly for a 68 F100 #10-1485. I have all lines hooked-up. The push rod that came with it is 5 1/2 inches long and the hole where it mounts to the pedal is to big, also I don;t think its long enough. I don't know how far the push rod going into the master cylinder but there seems to be a lot of play in the pedal. It is approximately 4 1/2 inches from master cylinder [outside] to the the mounting hole on the pedal. My original push rod is 4 1/2 inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not installing Power Brakes.
Thanks

doing this on my 63 now
used a 1970 f100 MC, direct bolt on
the push rod for this MC was longer and larger in diameter
it also went deeper into the newer MC
take the old MC with original push rod and set it next to the new MC and new rod
modify the new rod to line up with the hole that mounts it to the pedal
cutting and welding required
the overall length of the new one will be longer but that's because it fits deeper into its MC than the old one did
I know this sounds confusing but it will work
