I had an issue on my van (89 e250 diesel) when replacing the front brake hoses where the LF brake line snapped at the soft hose. I man handled the line to get it strethched out so I could get a new fitting on the end so I could get home.
It's been holding fine, but I don't trust it.
For the life of me I cant remember what size the hard line is. Is it 3/16?
3/16" is what I've used a few times. Remember to get new tube nuts if you'll be doing your own double flaring of the brake line.
BTW I did find some sort of coated steel brake line at Advanced Auto---in theory it should resist rust a bit longer than the bare steel stuff we've been using for eons.
Thank you sir, the general consensus from my parts department was go to advanced auto to get it as well. I thought it was the 3/16 but couldnt remember. Appreciate it!
