Ive looked and looked and cant seem to find the brake line size that runs along the frame. Some say its 1/4" others say its 3/16". Can someone who has done this fix please tell me the correct size line to use. I also need to know what size inverted nuts and unions to use. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to add, beings we're in the rust belt, do an inspection of that brake line, preferably near the fuel pump area, more so before the wheel well area, mine starting to rust up, replacement is imminent in the coming months...
Thanks guys!! I plan on replacing the whole front to back line that runs along the frame with the plastic coated steel line and some rubber tubing to cushion it. It seems like our line have a problem with bursting right behind the fuel tank. Hopefully the rain will hold off for a couple of hours so I can do the fix.
Yep mine had rusted through & started leaking from about where the fuel pump is back to the fitting at the rear axle just behind the fuel tank. The section hid by the fuel tank was in BAD shape, but it did give me a reason to drop the fuel tank & do the in-tank mods. The brake line I got from napa was pretty easy to bend with my fingers but I sure didn't try to put all the bends in it like the factory line.
