HP/Torque Curves

Has anyone seen any torque curves on the 2015 engines yet?

With everyone raving about all the gains from the weight savings I am interested to see how the new 2.7 holds its torque curve by all the reviews I expect it to come on real early and hold for a long time. The 5.0 is also up some power, but would be nice to know where it makes its power.

I assume the 3.5eco is mostly the same as last year with better overall performance due to the weight of the truck.

Here's another incredibly interesting dyno they did:
Dyno: 2.7 Liter vs 3.5 Liter EcoBoost | Ford F-150 Blog

It's amazing how close these are, except when it comes to higher-RPM torque, the 3.5 has a clear lead there. The next gen 3.5 can't come soon enough! That gap needs to be larger.

Good reads. But, don't miss what was said about the 3.5 staying out of boost longer than the 2.7, which won't show on the dyno as those curves are WOT. That gives the 3.5 better MPG #'s when trailering. I'm sold.

Wow, those are a lot closer than I would have guessed. That 2.7 is an impressive engine for sure.

True. Any news on that front? Is it 2017 like the 10-speed?

I think so far all we know is that the Raptor supposedly has 450hp (accidental leak by Ford exec) and that it will have a 10 speed auto. No word yet on what that means for the regular F-150. I hope it'll get the same power rating.

To get any real answers I think we need to get closer to the release date.

That's what I understood as well. And, I'd like to get a truck sooner than that, so I guess it'll probably be the "old" 3.5 EB and the 6-speed tranny.

Current 3.5EB with a mild tune on premium fuel could do 450 HP easily.

I would say that's roughly what you could expect from a tune-only truck.

This is another place the 3.5 has a distinct advantage over the 2.7, it has more headroom tuning wise.

5-Star gained about 30hp on a 2.7 with a premium-tune:
2.7 Liter EcoBoost V6 Tuned by 5-Star | Ford F-150 Blog

The 3.5 gains more like 70 or 80 horsepower on a tune.
