I know this had been beat to death, but I need to finally get a clutch. The Luk kit seems to be the preferred one here. Do I need to get anything else? I'm also gonna try to get some parts from R&D. Looking to get 250 at the wheels. I'm guessing the Luk will be ok for that. All input is appreciated.

I'm not sure what HP it will handle, but the LuK is what I'm running now and it's pretty awesome. More like a car for pedal pressure and the engagement is nice and predictable/smooth.
You'll need the clutch AND flywheel unless it's already got a LuK in there. I got mine off Amazon, I have prime and they had the best prices or close to it.
The stock flywheel is like 10" or something and the LuK is at least 11". It's not even a close fit, haha.
You'll love it! (If it's rated for that extra power!)
The LUK I had in smogie was great, held pretty decent numbers, more than it was rated for....342/759...
But im not sure its worth $250 more than the import unit... Im going import on my side, simply to test it out, if you want good stuff from the beginning, go Luk, if you want to chance it, Go Oreilly...
Thanks Russ. Worse case I get the kit and see what happens. If it slips, I know a shop that can fix me up with a clutch and a pressure plate that will not slip.

Thanks Justin. I'll be in touch with parts request, if you have time. I know your plate is very full!
Justins luk held to 342/759, so i think youre safe. The kit should have everything you need. Flywheel and clutch, comes with pressure plate bolts, flywheel bolts, throw out bearing, some grease, and alignment tool. Oh you will have to source your own locktite, some say red... i would go with blue. Over-torque the pressure plate bolts 3-5 ft/lbs
The SMF kit I ordered for Romel77's truck was the LuK #07225. It was $319 from RockAuto and includes the flywheel. It has a 12.25" friction disc which is the biggest you can fit with the stock pressure plate. It has a really nice feel and even with the close ratio ZF and 3.55's you can start out in 2nd gear effortlessly, something I could barely do at all with 4.10's with my 11" T19 clutch.
Thanks Ford F834 for the part number. The price is better than the local Napa and Carquest. They want 500+ for a kit. That's ok Hairy, I posted this thread twice last night. I have blue loctite in the shed.
As for Orielly, ive been getting braver with thier stuff, good luck so far. BTW their "Powertorque" clutch master/slave kit is one nice *** piece. Cast iron slave / master, pre-bled, seems to be excellent quality and for only $200. Put one in the 97 when we did the clutch, almost bought one myself just to get rid of the plastic factory setup.
Ok, I'm 99% sure that this is the kit I need. Just wanted to know for sure. This is my first conversion and just wanted a little conformation.LUK Part # 07230
