i just recently installed my train horn but now its still having problems. it leaks air but i have no idea where. from about 120 psi down to 0 in 5 or so hours. i want it to not leak air at all. also everytime i use it i have to get out of my truck and check the gauge for the psi which is in the bed of my truck and is there a way i could run a wire to a gauge in my truck cab so i could just power it on and see the psi from inside the cab? thanks
I assume it has a tank? There should be a check valve between the tank and the compressor.
You will have to experiment. Does it have a valve on the output line to the pull valve in the cab? If it does, shut that valve and see if it still leaks down. If it does, then suspect the check valve going to the compressor.
If you want a place to see the pressure, just get some plastic line from Lowe's, drill a hole in the floor somewhere, and mount the guage inside where you can see it, and run the plastic line out of the cab to the compressor unit. You could also mount the guage so you could see it through the back window somehow.
I haven't a clue what type of setup you have and where and how it's mounted, just some ideas I threw out.
