Advice needed for rear diff cover
Ok, I read all the forums about changing the gear oil in rear diff. Seemed like a pretty straight forward affair. Before I removed the cover I tried to free fill plug and VSS access in order to MAKE SURE I could fill it back up (like I said I read all the forums). I encountered the typical problems: fill plug is rusted solidly into place, nothing short of a tactical nuke will free that bad boy. No way that is coming out. Then tried the VSS. Seems like previous owner tried that also and stripped (and I mean rounded) the bolt.
There are some aftermarket covers with both Fill plugs and drain plugs. Here are two I am looking at (anyone else have any experience using these?):

I'm afraid not much luck there either. Not sure the gear oil was ever changed. Probably looks like Hershey's Chocolate Syrup/ That puppy is stuck but good. Plus, I like the idea of having a fill and drain plug for the future (thinking ahead).
