GP going bad?

sometimes when I start my truck she fires right up..no problem. I turn it off and go to start it maybe as little as 30 minutes to an hour and a half and she takes 10 minutes to finally start; almost like I am repriming the whole fuel system. Is this air getting in the fuel lines or bad glow plugs? Battery? Starter? I was having a problem like this a couple months ago when I would go to start it in the morning she would give me grief but then I started plugging in the block heater over night and she would fire right up so long as I had it plugged in. I recently replaced ip and return lines are less than 3(ish) months old.

if the engine will fire cold but not fire warm, i really doubt it is a glow plug problem.
it sounds more like a fuel shutoff switch problem to me. when the truck will not warm start, turn the key on and remove /reconnect the wire to the FSS. it should click.
if it does not, check for power at the wire end with a test light or meter. if you have power, it is the FSS in the pump. no power, you have a problem in the truck side wiring. run a jumper wire from battery positive terminal to FSS connecter and see if it starts.

I hear a click. That was the first thing I checked after installing the ip. It is a loud solid click. I went to start it after it sitting for six hours started but stumbled more than usual.

try putting power directly from the battery positive to the FSS on the injector pump.

Once I put power to it do I try and start it while I am manually giving it juice?

It started. Gave it some breathers and after cranking so often it started but I don't understand why it is doing this. Very frustrating

yes, put power directly to the FSS from the battery when it will not hot start, and if it starts rite up the problem is in the truck side electrical not sending power to the injector pump.

So... Did this..didn't work. Poured luke warm water on the pump as a last resort thinking I got a bad remnan.. That worked.

ouch. yup, it sounds like you got a bad rebuilt pump, or one that was just repaired and not rebuilt.

Talked to the guy and he told me that I am going to have to take the pump off and send it to him so they can "inspect" the pump which sucks because this is my daily truck. Anything else I can diagnose first?
