So the smoke issue i had was from the DPF. With the new turbos i was blowing crap out of the tail pipe like crazy. So they did a manual regen and drove it and constant crap coming out. So far so good.
No my exhaust sounds like theres a plastic bag stuck in the tail pipe and about ever 200 miles my "Cleaning Exhaust Filer" comes on. Now it only stays on for a few seconds and then goes off. Isnt it supose to stay on the duration of the regen??

What you are seeing is correct. A brief message and that's all. If you press the setup->reset button, it will cycle through different test like for your doors, battery, temp and so forth. It is at the very end of this cycle you will see the Cleaning Exhaust Filter message if it is in fact cleaning.
When I was DPF present I would use that method to determine when cleaning was done.
