Front axle swap

I have a 74 F250 that I'd like to swap out the dana 60 low pinion out for a high pinion. Is there a specific truck year that has a high pinion dana 60, that is a direct bolt in?

79 and 78 with the possibility of late 77 are your only bolt in options.

What are your reasons for swapping to a high pinion?

Correct, and good luck finding one. They are hard to come by and they also sell for around $1,200 - $1,500 when you do find one. Only 1979 F-350 4x4s had them and also 1978/1979 F-250 4x4s with the Sno-Fighter package had them, so they are not exactly plentiful. They are out there if you look hard enough.
