I have a 77 High Boy with the stock low pinion D44 front Differential. Has anyone seen a writeup of Front high pinion D44 or D60 Differentails that that will drop in to a 77 High Boy?

i threw a high pinion d60 under the front of my truck. can we say simple? just hack up the truck, disconnect the brake lines, driveshaft, and the draglink. unbolt the u-bolts, let the old axle drop out. just repeat this in reverse for putting the 60 back in. i wouldnt go with a 44 if your going to make the effort to do a swap. just spend the extra money and get the 60, you'll be happier in the long run.

 

What year D60 did you drop in? I see a lot of 1980's D60 for sale. Should I stick with 78-79 front axles?
