The front width is same as all 73-79 trucks. Get yourself a 78/79 high pinion D60 or HP D44. Even the 44 is much better than what you have. If you do the swap you'll have to do a little changing of master cyl and some other little stuff to make it work. Oh and might as well do the 78/79 power steering conversion.
I did the whole works with a D60 and it was expensive but worth it.
