Since the build at about 25k miles I had two injectors fail on the right bank and hydro-locked the motor. The apparent issue was improper torque on the injectors. Instead of the 10ft pounds recommended by ford I since learned that others with mild performance enhancements were recommending a mild increase in torque to 10.8 ft pnds.
Sent the injectors back to FFD who went through them installing all new o-rings and tips, flow tested and returned.
Everything is back together and running great. Also went through the interior and had the seats re-upholstered, new door seals, new carpet etc.. Had ~400k on the Ex and while still good, it was pretty worn. All that remains is body and paint, just not sure where to go for a quality job. Here are a few photos. It's the angle.....clear coat is bubbling and cracking all over, and I have a dent on the back left quarter panel from backing up my trailer and talking to the wife at the same time.
Real nice. I got a great price from JEGS. I need to mod the port over the AIS to align better, right now it is only half way over the air box. I couldn't use the Good hood option for an AIS which would have mated up better as I needed more air flow hence the larger air box.
Hell I don't know. When it comes time, which is pretty soon, I'm sure FTE will guide me. The most work it does is pull my camper, and it already does that with the cruise set at 72 and doesn't even care. It's a little 38' 18,000# fiver... I am just noticing harder cold starts and a bit of white smoke at start up cold. So I know it's coming.
