78 bronco???????

looking at a 78 bronco. 400 v-8, auto(which one?), edelbrock performance intake, holley 4-barrel carb, hedman headers. 31x10.50-15 m/t tires on 10" wheels. body has significant surface rust, nothing all the way through. what is this thing worth? it does run and drives like a used 78 bronco.

Don't what part of the country you're in, so this may not be relevant, but in northern Colorado a truck like that sells for around $1000 to $1200. I have seen them as low as $800, but those are generally on their last legs.

I would say yes as you described. However, remember that you are getting a 1000$ bronco. . . . . and that work is to be expected. Sounds like paint first to get rid of the cancer, or at least a sand and primer job.

78 bronco???????

Depends upon what has been done to the engine. On mine he really buillt up the engine but neglected the body. I bought mine for 1700 in a city in the mid-west in the country here you can find them cheaper.

I also would check the body over EXTREMELY carefully. Ford trucks are notorious for rust. If you've got it on the surface, I'd bet the fenders are on their way out. The trouble spots are just behind the doors at the bottom of the quarter panel, the tops of the wheel arches on both ends, below the taillights on the sides, and the floor pans ahead of the front seats, at the rear seat pivot points, and at the back of the floor pan under the carpet just ahead of the tailgate. The tailgates also rust through severely.
