frame width

can anyone tell me if the frame width on a 79 bronco is the same as a 78scs

The bronco is 37 1/2" wide I believe it's the same

both my pickups and the wifes bronco have 37 1/2" bolt centers and 38" outside frame to outside frame muesurements..

measured my 78 scs and it is 34 outside to outside

34" in front 37.5" in back. 4x4's have differences than the 2wd, but anything on a 4x4 F150 will work for the '78/79 Bronco.

thanks,i was hoping that i could use a bumper from a bronco but with the frame diffrences i will have to make my own brakets.

bumper bolt centers are about 31.75" on my Bronco, which that bumper came from an F150. Can't go by frame widths (measured from outside to outside)

OK, I think I follow ya now. You're talking rear bumper.

My Bronco has L brackets that hold the bumper on at 40" and about 58" The F150 ('78 4x4) has straight brackets that come out from the outside of the frame at 37.5", but are hidden on the inside of the bumper.

yeah,sorry about not saying it was the rear bumper,i wasnt thinking(you coudn.t read my mind) ha! hawell i bought a 74 f150 4x4 yesterday afternoon for 500.00 lots of goodies on it including a perfect rear bumper.i have been waiting for this truck for about ten-twelve years,it is preaty ruff but it is a one owner truck with all the chrome trim you could get.
