Why can't we cross and swap the fronts to the outside rears?

The wheels are only polished on one side is what I was told. So if reversed as they would be the non polished side would be facing outward.

Wheel polish isn't going to stop me from rotating my tires unless they are physically different. They are already covered in road grime in the winter. Fronts and outside rears are both aluminum. I'm planning to run my dirty side out in the winter. Call me crazy!

I would have tried it this winter but I only had 3000 miles on it in November.

or switch to steel wheels as i did on my old 96 F350 XLT with aluminum wheels. Have considered doing the same on my 2015. Being my age, I don't need the flash and bling as the younger kids do. I had rather have something that is functional and useful over the life of the truck.

And the added weight? LOL. What effect is an additional 200-250 pounds on a truck with curb weight over 7500 pounds? Not much in my opinion.

If I do switch, I will store the aluminum wheels to put back on when i sell or trade it.

I might be wrong, but I believe they are machined to only fit the location installed. I don't think the mounting surface is machined for reversing.

Again, I might be wrong.

Hey Jonnylu, nice looking truck. When you put the 285/75r17 did you notice a big power reduction? What did you do at the duals so they do nut touch?

thanks

Thanks, absolutely no power loss... and i run 2" steel spacers in rear... on 2nd set of tires now.. 1st set was nitto trail grapplers g2 50k miles and wore perfect! Just switch to toyo open country extremes only on 2k so far.. so well see if i can hit 60k

Did you have to put a spacer on the rear? If so what size?
