Polyurethane body mount bushing installation question
I am looking at polyurethane bushings and no one makes a "kit" that I can find. How is everyone installing them? All my old body mounts are so old even upper and lower metal spacers were so rusted together I had to cut everything off with a reciprocating saw.
Only the all rubber kit provides the extra metal parts. I could care less about the bolts...what I am referring to is like the following kit for my Bronco.
The polyurethane kit I used for my Bronco came with spacer sleeves and washers for the tops and bottoms to essentially sandwich them bushing between the two washers but only compress it as much as the spacer around the bolt going through the center.
What is everyone doing to install the polyurethane bushings. It seems weird no one makes a "kit" and it seems to me that parts are missing. I am not worried about bolts. I have a great hardware store locally I can get pretty much any size and length I need.
They are the same as every other. It is just the bushings. You still need to reuse your factory ford top and bottom washer/sleeve assembly. That is NOT an option for me. Several of them were too far gone and others I could not get apart for the life of me and had to cut them out.
I had to do the same on my Bronco but aftermarket polyurethane body mount kits provided washers and sleeves to replace the one piece factory parts. It is crazy I can't find something like this anywhere for these trucks.

If you didn't want to make anything, you could just purchase those pieces separately from page 12 in the latest LMC Truck catalog (or other similar). Then just buy whatever bushing kit you want.
I bought the body mount hardware from the "L" word company () for my 79 F-100. Do they not use the same hardware (Bronco & Custom)? I used prothane mounts and the "L" word's hardware.
I saw a post regarding fabricating cab mounts on this site I used that information to make new nut serts for my spare tire rack. They are pretty simple to fabricate if you can weld. A nut, a large washer and a piece of tubing.
