Another Body Mount ?

Hey All,

I'm new to these trucks, and I'm just starting a frame off restoration of my 1977 4x4. I have searched extensively regarding the different body mount kits, but I still have some questions.

First off, like everyone else, Im trying to keep costs down and therefore the poly mount kits are appealing for the cost savings. My question is, do you still need the original metal sleeves with these kits, or do you just put the new poly bushing directly between the frame and cab?

I live in Arizona, so I can't imagine (knock on wood) my body mounts will be rusted together, as my truck has no appreciable rust. I would like to order a mount kit ASAP, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I do believe they need to be there, either the oem hardware or the washers and sleeves you get with the poly kits.

Make sure the poly kit you get has the sleeve kit with it. I boguht one and it was only the bushings. Now I am in the process of making my own sleeves out of DOM tubing. I saw a poly kit on ebay for like $70 that came with everything, just need bolts.
