The way I see it, if your gonna have a loud exhaust whether it be stacks, strait through or even open header, well then again open header is obnoxiously loud, a buddy of mine tried it on his 4 banger ranger....
Basically just don't be a douche about it, shadow seems to have the concept down pretty well if you ask me. And to add, If some body around you loves to stand on the go pedal and you don't like it, a simple confrontation seems to be all that's needed.
Lastly I hate to be the 1%'er here but uhm what does "bro'd out" mean @ponykilr
Yeah that's what I am getting at, I do what I like with my exhaust system I'm just not a pain about it in the wrong areas, I'm not that kid that rides by the school rev bombing all the way in and out every morning I just do that crap in areas where only me and another motorist and the guy at the other end of the woods will hear. Don't feel to bad about not knowing what "bro'd" out is, I don't know either. :/
You ever wonder why those vehicles have "stacks"? It's not cause it's a fad, or cool, it's function. The stack is very much in the way of MANY other functions, but it's worth it to direct the exhaust up. Dump trucks are a prime example, the stacks take up some very valuable space. Many other aspects are limited to make room for the stack.
To be fair there is no functional aspect to dual stacks on a semi tractor or dump truck though many have them. Nor is there rarely a use to a stack larger then 8" in diameter. But truckers like their trucks looking good to and looks is a function. For a commercial driver your truck is a large part of your presentation to customers.
I know that semis and dump trucks have them for a reason, and I'm not saying they're stupid or ridiculous on THOSE vehicles. That's why, if you read my post more carefully, I said they BELONG on those vehicles. But stacks on anything OTHER than those types of vehicles (like a pickup truck, for example) looks stupid. And on pickups, they DON'T have any functional purpose except to look "cool," and they most definitely are a fad.
^ Good definition. Around here, a truck with obnoxious wheels, no muffler, lights in weird places, limo tint, squatting in the rear, jacked up in the front, blue headlights and green or pink painted diff cover driven by a flat brim hat wearing thug wannabe is called a "bro truck"
Oh my those trucks are M************R UGLY! That kind of crap makes me sick to the core, I perfer a useable lift and proper sized stacks if anything. on a truck. Shame mine is 2wd otherwise they would be on "the list" of things to do to her.

If I find a rusted out or wrecked long bed F-150 for dirt cheap one day with everything else in good shape I would gladly do so, but I don't, so unless I come across that I'm just gonna make her go faster and faster until I can't keep making her fast or she just can't take the forces anymore. I like my go fast rigs.
Gave quite a bit of thought to the sidepipe/stacks idea for my gasser years ago.
For a gas truck with stacks, I always thought a sidepipe that was re-oriented to go straight up wouldve looked the best, this style being what I was looking at:
Some even have mufflers built in. Never went that route as I opted to keep the OE Cat and resonator, just ended really liking the sound. Might change it down the road, make your truck your own. Remember you're the one looking back at it when you walk into the store, not people on the internet.
My brother-in-law has the #4 truck in the nation in his class and is in Diesel power magazine to be voted on in Diesel power challenge last months issue, he is also a contractor.
I asked his about his single stack and why he didn't keep the coal rolling out the back the rules on the track state that he has to keep the tree visible for the officials.
I guess if a gasser is rolling blue smoke you might as well put it in the air
