-83' F250 with the heavy duty drum brakes-
Before I put the drum back on does this check out OK?
Fought me the whole way so I disconnected the hold down springs to get the drum off in the first place.
As always I found what I needed to get the job done right. Its always reassuring to know that there is such a wealth of information to draw on. Keep up the good work guys
Just out of curiosity, is there any reason in particular ford decided to run 1/4 inch brake line off the splitter to the rear drums and not thread the cylinder with anything you would usually run with that line? I couldn't find anything that fit both sides so I had to hunt down an unusual adapter. Have you guys found this? any better solutions out there? I don't like the idea of having more areas for possible leaks than necessary especially on a hydraulic brake system.
One my truck they ran standard 3/16 line on both sides of the rearend, but the one side they used a oversize nut, 1/4" line type threads on the outside, 3/16 hole on the inside.
I don't know why they did it, but the little brass adapter works well, all the parts stores seem to have them.
