Dual Function Reservoir Replacement
This is my first post, but I have been lurking the boards for quite a while. I have a 1989 F350 2wd with a 5.8l 351w. I have had all the issues with the dual tank system that everyone else is having. I have replaced both in tank fuel pumps and replaced the rear tank. The rear tank had 10-15 year old gas in it that had turned into "crude oil". My tanks were cross filling, now I switch the lines on the Dual Function Reservoir (DFS) every once in a while in order to avoid over flow. Sad but true.....
The issue... I purchased a new DFS. Popped it in, in all of about 10 minutes. I jumped in the truck hoping too cruise around switching tanks for the fun of it... Worked great!!! Until I looked under the truck and it was leaking fuel from the connectors at the DFS. It appears the "quick connectors" are not snug on the new DFS. Did the old ones expand? D I have the wrong DFS? I ordered a 1989 and the part numbers match up.
Any Thoughts??
