Trying to find some tires and wheels for my 78 e250. Stock are 235/75/16 but seem too small to me, I'm into custom vans and the wheels and tires they have are fat and they have smaller in the front, and larger in the back. What's the biggest tire I can go?
I have no info on custom wheel size but didn't '78 E250s come with 16.5" wheels?
Are you looking for wide wheels for a low riding street custom or will you raise the body for an off-roader with flotation tires?

How do you post pictures? Yes I went to a tire shop about a week ago and told me 16.5 are rare and hard to find and to stay away from them. Also to just go with size 16. I want the fat tires in front and bigger in back, if I make sense ?
I don't have attachment privileges on this forum so I'll assume you don't either and thus can't upload image files from your computer. The above pictures are already on the internet so I posted the URL within image tags to display the picture. The code looks something like this:
Without the *'s, of course. Those are just there so it doesn't try to find and display the text as a picture file.
So you mean having wheels like this -
Both wider and taller in the rear. Hmm... that would be purely for looks since the van is designed for the same size wheels front and back. A '78 van wouldn't have ABS or traction control to confound, though. Having different diameters messes up carrying a spare since you'd have to carry two or drive lopsided to a tire shop. Custom vans can look sharp with the same size wheels front and rear. At least Mr. T thinks so -
You can have the rear sit higher and/or the front sit lower for the impression that the rear wheels are taller. It's difficult for the rear wheels to sit much wider than the front since the front have to stick out more to clear the the frame when steering. Also, rear wheel protrusion is limited when you have a sliding door.

Yeah I like the fat wide tires, what size tires are those? They also look nice the same size. How would it look if they're the same size but 8" wide in the front and 10" in the back? Sorry for being so difficult.
Your van must have 8 lug wheels on it. The ones above are all 5 lug with 15 inch wheels.
If you want that look I would search for some 16" wheels that fit your van. Probably 8-10" wide and then Look for some tires that are 265, 275, 285 with with probably a 50-60 sidewall.

Yeah they're 8 lug, it sucks. So I was looking at some tires on CL that are 265/75/16 but not sure if that's size would fit and look I was going for. losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/puts/4909252398.html
Those tires will be wider and taller. If you don't know already the first number "265" is the tire width in mm. The second number "75" is the aspect ratio. 75% of the tire width. This is the sidewall height. The third number size.
Those tires will be taller and wider than your current ones.
