3 gear issues

3 gear issues
I have a 1998 ford ranger and it will not disengage out of 3 gear. The truck still starts but if you let of the cutch. Of course, It stalls. I'm doing the work myself but I just want some suggestions on where I should start looking. Anything helps

Not much you can tell till its pulled, and the top removed, most likely bad bearings on the input and main shaft. Rebuild could consist of new main and cluster gears, new syncros and bearings. And if you rebuild, don't forget to replace the 3 rubber plugs in the rear of the shifter housing with metal ones.
