I need to know if this engine/trans are compatible

My truck needs a new engine and i found this engine trans combo on craigslist but its much newer, what would i need to do to make it work?

My truck:
1999 F250 SD V10 4R100 4X4

Possible swap:
2008 V10 6R140 4X4

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm going to guess that it would be a completely custom job. A lot changes in 9 years.

I think it would be a big job for a dealership to take on let alone doing it yourself.

A dealership wouldn't have the resources to do it. You need a top end custom shop, and even then they are going to have a real hard time. This swap will cost multiple tens of thousands ABOVE what you pay for the engine and trans.

Stick with similar years.

I did not think the V10 was available with the 6R140 until at least 2011. The 5R110 was the auto trans that came in 2008 with the V10. Anyway you are most likely going to run into some fitment issues however another big issue will be to get the new powertrain to work with your older truck.

You just need the engine? The easiest thing to do is have yours rebuilt.

Your truck is a 99' which came with the lower output non PI engine. If I were you I would get a PI engine out of an 00'-04' super duty. The PI engine has 35hp and 15tq more than the non PI and carries the power further up into the rpm range than the non PI. A lot of the 00'-04' engines do not have EGR which your 99' most likely has. You can delete the EGR. It is best to try and get the PCM from the truck the PI donor engine came out of. The tuning is different between the non PI and PI engines. Otherwise you would have to get a custom tune to reflash your old pcm. Getting a donor PCM with the engine is less hassle.
