Hello,, I have a 2000 CC 4x4 powerstroke the down pipe is 3in and the rest of the exhaust is 31/2in. Would it help to change the down pipe to a banks 31/2in and change the muffler to a less restrictive one?????? Or would I be better replacing the whole system to 4in??? Thanks ALL
Thanks for the reply. I have a power chip already installed it was in when I bought the truck. Not sure what size the chip is it was made by Performance Diesel if I remember right, I tried to call the phone numbers on the chip but they are no longer in service. I guess I will go with the 4" exhaust. Thanks AL
Even if you replace the factory downpipe with one of the same size it will be an improvement over the squashed factory tubing. If you are going to run any kind of a chip I would recommend a 4" exhaust and a pyro gauge.
Im in the process of getting a new exhaust system, what do you guys suggest? Bullydog 4" or 5", Magnaflow 4", Banks 4", ATS 4"
Just wondering what eveybody is running?

I run a B&B performance Exhaust......sounds good and looks great......here's a pic of the tip:
A buddy of mine runs the ATS Dual exhaust.......looks real nice and sounds good too.
Besides the size difference and whether or not it's stainless the things that set the different exhausts apart from each other is the finish and the sound.
Out of your choices I'd run the ATS or maybe even the Bullydog 5"....
