Ive searched and searched but dont know what they are called. Im sure this topic has been discussed many times but im just not stumbling across it.
Its annoying me that the rear doors keep getting blown shut on windy days. What type of hardware can i install on the doors to keep this from happening? it seems as if theres some hardware midway on each side but its disconnected and missing parts. please dont tell me a bungee cord lol..
Thank you
The bracket you are showing is the door check. That keeps the doors from opening too far. I never had anything other than a cuttaway, I assume that to be the case. I guess they could keep them open as well.

Door check, well im one step closer than i was. Possibly that would make enough of a difference once installed. Ill have to give ford a call tomorrow about that part. The van is new to me so i guess it was removed or broken for whatever reason.
Thank you
You are missing the parts that hold the doors open/keep from going too far. Not sure how well they keep from blowing shut. Maybe they work better new than mine.
Just a bit of advice for down-the-road repairs or maintenance on these parts....
Use a bit of anti-seize on the bolt threads, especially the smaller Torx-headed pieces. As seen in the photos those are subject to rust---along with being very soft and the Torx recess being easily stripped removing them can be quite a chore later on.
