We recently (day after Thanksgiving) bought a 1950 Ford F1 half-ton pickup body only with lots-o-rot on eBay in Missouri. To compliment it, we found a 1998 Ranger extended cab in Alabama, cheap with a broke tranny. I hauled both of these back to New Orleans with my 94 Ranger where the two met and fell in love at first sight. Here are two pics, more at this site:

Looks like a cool project.

Do you plan to use the entire Ranger drivetrain/chassis? Or are you just planning to use the chassis and do an engine & transmission swap?

If you plan on using the Ranger drivetrain what's it got for an engine? Is it the 4 cylinder or the V6?

 

I never saw the original engine, transmission, frame, wheels, or anything other than the body with my own eyes, only in some pics from a prior owner. I am on a poor man's budget, removing the body off the Ranger, setting the 1950 on top, and welding the difference.

She's got a 3.0 v6, not the 4, but not the 4.0 either.

 

Is it done yet?
