If we could find a trusted member that would accept us shipping them parts, and they have the time to build something with out parts, and are willing to sell the FTE truck (which will be built using nothing but donation parts) and donate all proceeds to something such as Wounded Warrios, I could actually see something like this happening, and I would love to be apart of it. Got quite a few 302 parts just laying around.
I could talk to a friend of mine who started our car club. We have been trying to find a way to get donations coming in so that we could purchase an Action Track Chair for a disabled Veteran. The work weekend is a good idea too. He runs a small trucking company and has the shop to support something like this. Only thing is that when trucking/shipments are slow, he builds cars for $. Not sure how much a project like this would cut into that, but I will ask him.
2 FRICKIN' TIMES!
351, this started out as an excellent idea obviously meaning to be fun. But I REALLY like the idea of actually one of us building it and donating the proceeds. I would be proud as all get out to be part of it and contribute. At any given time there are approx. 80 people viewing this board. I know most are behind the scenes but with that many we could even pitch in moola for a paint job etc. After all, we are talking WOUNDED WARRIORS here! I, like our Kingdom Keeper of the Watchdogs, haven't looked at all my stash in a while. I know I have all kinds of little trinkets I took off my 71 Parts truck. Stupid little stuff. Besides that off the top o' my knoggin' I remember I have:
Used 1976 Torino 351W. Complete.
Used 1976 Torino FMX. With new filter, gasket, vac modulator.
Tail gate.
NOS Ford Motorsport 80/83 302 headers.
Repro R&L 70/72 headlamo doors.
Grille upper panel.
Repro tailgate center applique with black background (I think).
.030 over pistons,rings,bearings,gaskets for the 351W.
Chrome open element air cleaner with 351 decal.
New Aftermarket SBF motor and trans mounts.
67/69 standard cab instrument cluster with gauges. Never looked to see what year the wiring is.
Repro battery tray.
Used straight back exhaust duals with Flowmasters and bigger chrome tips. From headers back. 71 they came off of was a 302 truck.
Dash harness. AZ heat cooked and a couple pigtails clipped off I've given to FTE members.
New aftermarket F100 4 wheel drum wheel cylinders.

It just occurred to me that we might be able to crowdfund the build. Since the real cost is mostly in labor and time, after the parts are donated we could use Kickstarter or something like it to raise money to pay for shop time.
This would accomplish two things: it would get the project done sooner since someone could work on it full-time and it would introduce the project to a broader audience. So when it comes time to auction off the truck, more people will know about it and be enthusiastic about it and that equals more money for WW.

What does everyone think?
I am not familiar with Kickstarter so my reply to you is rather ignorant. My personal feelings are keep it FTE. Bump specific to a bit but FTE wide. Other FTE boards could pitch in if we advertise this to 'em correctly. Dent guys could donate parts easily. Other boards labor or moola Maybe. I know, well MAYBE. Sponsors of FTE across the board may contribute!!!!!!!!
HHAAYYYYYY. A competition with the Dent guys. Both build one. Proceeds from both go to WW. That might just get most of FTE buzzin' like a bee hive!
we could ask Gas Monkey Garage to build it. The audience for that would be HUGE!
That's what I'm thinking. A bigger audience would mean more money at auction for WW.
As far as keeping it in FTE, it would still be our project 100%. We would be initiating it, donating the parts and designing it. Heck, we could even hire an FTE member to do the build, like that fella who's building the '69 Lightning truck. Others outside of FTE could donate funds, but it would still be our project.
That's how crowdfunding works; you have an idea that you want to realize but you need capitol. Kickstarter and other crowdfunding sites just generate interest and money in lots of small donations. We might be able to do the whole thing in-house, but a funding campaign would kick it up a few notches and allow us to do something really cool AND make a good deal more money for WW.
I'm SERIOUS. Who else is? Who out there is a good Organizer? Got the time to get and keep the ball rolling? Any of you "step forward" to do the Labor? Especially in a town where maybe there are 2 or more men/women who can team up together? There are a lot of folks on here with Great welding and fab skills. Anyone step forward?
I have a inner door panel and 2 trim rings
I also have a couple full gauge clusters, one for 70 and one for 71.
I can also offer up some wheels that fit a 5 x 5.5 4x2. I have an aluminum set and a stock set.
Also willing to search the local yards for parts as needed.
I think the 71 4x4 with 360 parts truck is still available from my old neighbor. It was cheap and mostly there, just missing steering gear, and front driveshaft last time I saw it.

I have some experience with organizational projects.
The next step might be to take an inventory of what we have and determine what we need.
Once we have all the parts we should settle on a look for the truck: factory, rat rod, etc.
Then comes the moment of truth: finding someone with a shop who's willing to do the work.
