I've got a 92 F150 4wd ext cab that needs Front Suspension work.
Because when goin over bumps or turning there's alot of noise and popping/clunking under drivers side footwell. Alot of bounce in the front end as well.
Basically what is needed when doing Ball Joints, Sway Links, Seals, O rings, Shocks ect..? This truck is just Winter/Trash truck but I want to feel Safe. Any help Much Appreciated.
Start with the radius arm bushings first and go from there.
You may be surprised how much noise they make when they're old.
(Spray them now with PB Blaster!)
This. Right under your feet is radius bushings. In the wheel is ball joints. I would suggest the adjustable Daystar bushings. Poly and more alignment adjustment than stock.
I had the popping noise myself after installing a lift that included radius arm bushings. I noticed the popping mostly when backing up and turning. As part of the front axle rebuild, I installed new ball joints that I ordered from JBG. All said and done all of my funny noises and popping are now gone. The time and money spent in the front axle was well worth it!
