You mentioned ball joints so this would probably indicate that you also have radius arms. Have you verifued that there are good and serviceable bushings there? If the radius arm makes metal to metal contact you will get a very loud noise when you hit a bump.
This is true whether you have a 2wd or 4wd. Now, if you have a 4wd (which might be the case since you mentioned a stabilzer. Asuuming that you are talking about a stabilizer shock) you may have a loose trac bar or one that has bad bushings. Same symptoms will occur of you have a problem here.
