Tooth count for starter

I am looking at a after market starter and need to know the tooth count for my 1966 F350/352ci/4spd NP435. Everything points to a 164 tooth but I would like confirm this.

A flywheel might have 164 teeth but I've never seen a starter for a car or truck with even a quarter of that. The starter for my 300 six has 9 or 10 teeth. 352 starter has to be close to that, too. They are small gears so no way 164!teeth would fit.

Flywheel could have 164 teeth so maybe they are referring to what the starter meshes with. In that case probably correct.

I was refering to the flywheel tooth count.

C5AZ-6384-A .. 3/4 M/T Flywheel Ring Gear-184T / Obsolete

1965/67 F100/350 352 / 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 // 1965/71 352/390/410/428 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars.

ALL 1963/76 FE engines with A/T & M/T use the same 3 hole starter and starter drive.

btw: 164T ring gear: 221/260/289/302/351C/351W

Funny you should mention that, I just relized a few minutes ago my mistake from the literature. Thanks for the info I will go ahead with the 184 spec.
