Have any of you used No-Limit's engine mounts for a Volare suspension? The right one was a piece of cake, but after two days I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how the left one goes together. It comes in four pieces...much assembly required! I'm not using a Ford engine, but the assembly of the mount should be basically the same for any engine. Does anyone have a picture of what the mount looks like put together?. You would think No-Limit would provide one. The video isn't much help...
GNW,
Did you try calling them? Or maybe they can refer you to a customer who has successfully put together that side? Maybe the have pictures they could E to you or show you links to on the Net? There's gotta be a way. Worst comes to worst, is an option avail to send it back, have them assemble it then ship it back to you assembled? May lessen your aggravtion and at least it'll be done and readly for install.
Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't called No-Limit since I received the mounts, but I did call before I ordered them. I think these mounts are primarily made for a Volare in a 53-56, but I was assured they would work in a 48 F-1. Perhaps My truck being an F-3 also makes a difference. I already butchered the right side mount to make it fit, so returning them isn't an option. The installation process involves bending one the pieces (1/4 inch plate) to fit over the steering box (yeah, right! I can do that with my bare hands!), before the pieces are welded together. The assembly sheet that came with the mounts shows pictures of two of the pieces and loosely describes where they go, but no three dimensional pictures to show how they fit together or how they are welded to the tube. If I keep looking at them long enough I guess I'll eventually figure it out. I was just hoping someone else who had been through this could offer some advise.
Vern don't you know that the F-3 shares 90% of the same parts as the F-1. From the cab forward the trucks are the same. You could stick the plate in a vise, heat it with a torch and pound it with a BFH.

I didn't realize you had experience with these. That's exactly how you do it.
Start with the largest piece what attaches beneath the PS box. I heated and bent it approximately correct in the vice. Then tack it to the truck, tacked, heated, ground, bent, until it fit correctly. After a bunch of engine test fits, I welded it up solid. I wouldn't pay for another "puzzle" either. But since you own them already, I think it is easier to use them than fab from scratch. But not much.
"Oh yah, and george has finally run outa words and started makin them up. Big long fancy technical soundin' ones...."

We'll keep an eye on him. I suspect he had been doing this for several years now.

I was pleased to see the forum was still here today. Thanks for keeping them in line. Don't worry much about the mutiny. A good leader loses a couple friends a day.

I have Mid-Fiftie's instructions for the kit but they are a joke. John's PIC is about as good as it will get.
Welcome back 'fenders....and thanks guys. I think after looking at John's mounts again, I have an idea of what to do. I may use some of the No-Limit mount...or, I might just chuck it all. Oh well, the tranny mount worked out well.
