Wake up my 302
I put a light on it last night it's at 14 degrees and I reved it at the carb with the light on it and at I'd say around 2-2200 it was advanced to 30 degrees and I revved it up more and it went past 30 degrees. It revs up to 6,000 no problem in park or neutral. And yes it has stock manifolds and y-pipe to a 2 1/2" pipe hollowed converter 1 in 2 out flow master 40 series and 2 pipes out the back
Also what shift kit would you recommend I use on the tranny I think that's whY it won't get the rpms past that mark the transmission has been slipping for awhile and just recently it won't shift out of 2nd hardly unless I 1) stomp the pedal and hold it down until it finally hits 3rd who h is around 4-4500 or drive it awhile and keep putting it neutral and drop it back into drive and sometimes that works. So that's why I'm rebuilding that getting parts today bi I know I don't need a towing kit so would a street/strip be a good one? Also I'm not concerned about gas mileage because its never gotten good mpg and I don't drive it very far I'd say 4 miles a day 2 miles to work 2 miles home. That's about it. Anyway thanks for the advice I have learned more about my truck from you conaski
Yeah that's no good, get some headers for it and ditch the stock y pipe and put duals on it if you can't build a custom Y pipe. When you rebuild the trans put a transgo shift kit in it, stage 2 will make the shifts form but not too stupid.
Ok I got it done. The c6 is rebuilt but I didn't know about the intermediate band servo being rubber so I have to get a new one tomorrow. Also you said the stage 2 in the destructions it only gave me an option on the 3 green springs well my valve body only had the outer and mid in there stock so I put just the outer spring in. I hope that wasn't a mistake. But I checked the stiffness of old and new outer and mids and they were about the same just the new one was a little weaker.
