Its new shoe time and there is always good opinions about tires on this site. I was looking at the Discoverer ST/MAXX in the 305/70R16 for the EX and I was wondering if anyone had a set and what they thought about them?
I had them on my old F250 right when they came out...i didnt have them too long (ended up selling the wheels/tires for bigger setup) but i loved them. Quiet on the highway, were great offroad and in snow, and they wore great in the 15-20k i had them. I cant contribute much to long term results but i loved them...considering those on my truck when these Toyo MTs are up. When i bought them the 265/75/16s i had was one of the biggest sizes
I have them and so far I'm super happy! Road noise isn't an issue either.
I have been a long time consumer of the Cooper tire specifically the ST but they didn't make the size I needed and they are stopping that line if my memory severs me right.
I have Discoverers in 305 size on my Ex and they're FANTASTIC tires. Great on dry or wet, pretty good on snow, and decent for the limited offroading I do.
The main thing is that they're not too noisy at highway speed and they still have a nice lug for offroad/snow traction.
I highly recommend them and will buy another set when these wear out.
