Dealer problems
I have a 2010 f250 with the 6.4 I purchased new. I have been religious about maintainence on the truck and have just over 35k on the odometer. I took it to my dealer last week for a coolant exchange and they found a leak on the degas bottle, covered under warrenty though so go me

I went to do my oil change today and noticed that the degauss bottle was missing the cap, after digging around I found the cap on the battery like the tech forgot to put it back on
.I called dealer and explained how I drove it home with no issues and it has sat in my driveway since. I explaind how when I was performing the oil change I found the cap on the battey and no antifreeze in degauss bottle. I do see antifreeze in the sight glass and I don't remember it running warm on way home from dealer. They have a wrecker coming over to tow it back to their shop, I am going to request that they do a block check as well as a cooling system leak check just be sure that it didn't get hot and cause any hidden damage. Is there anything else you all would recommend?

I got a call back feom the dealer today, said truck is ready to pick up. I just dont have the warm fuzzy feeling. The service writer keeps trying to downplay the situation, saying its ok that it ran with no visible coolant in the degauss bottle. I spoke with the head service manager and he is very appoligetic and keeps telling me they will make it right, but i dont feel the love bassed off the actions of the other guys.
I will be taking it to an independent shop to make sure no problems were caused and hope for the best. I got a big trip to LA Monday, and really hope the dealership isint feeding me a line. Will let you know what happens.

As already mentioned, this tells me that you were looking at the fuel / turbo actuator cooling system. Not a huge deal honestly especially since you did not drive it far or load the truck. Same would go for the engine cooling system as long as you did not drive for a long period of time or load the engine.
Personally, I would not be concerned with the truck. The dealer? Perhaps.
