I wouldn't mess with the water pump at just 80k miles unless you are seeing evidence of leaks FROM the pump itself. The lower hose flange and O-ring are very easy to fix and correct the leak you are seeing. I did mine back in October, will be doing the upper flange and new t-stat in the spring....and have no intention of changing my water pump until it gives me reason too. I'm at 162k.
But since they are cheap enough I would go ahead and put on new upper and lower hoses since you have to fully drain. And get the newer model wrap around hose up top...around the serp belt instead of through it, like Dean mentioned.
I will definitely go Aluminum for the Stat housing since the one now was OEM and as you can see in the picture is crap.
If it comes with stainless bolts, be careful with them. They don't take as much torque as their steel counterparts. This is especially important if you put anti-seize on them. Forget the manual torque specs and do "snug" and make it a little tighter if it leaks.
I thought all the aluminum covers were the same, but that's not the case. Some seem to have a flat top where the screws/bolts go - so you can use a flange bolt and some have a recess where they go so you need to use a hex cap screw with an allen head.

There are 2 different hoses and lower tubes. you need to make sure they match. I got a hose from NAPA and a tube from the dealer and the NAPA hose was for the straight tube and the dealer gave me a 90 tube based on my VIN - and the truck originally had a straight tube (my bad for not checking that beforehand).
As far as I know, either will work, as long as you get the matching pair.
Good to know thanks. The cover I ordered comes with the Allen head SS bolts (bought it from Riffraff). I just got the nice box with yellow tape :-) and the cover is a work of art :-)
I just verified that I have a curved lower tube and the Gates lower hose 22424 matches the original perfectly. The Gates 22433 top hose when superimposed on the engine looks like a winner and goes around the belt.
I will wait a bit until things warm up before changing them but I am gathering my Spring/Summer projects now :-)
