Hose clamps

Is anyone else having problems with the chinsy hose clamps put on by Ford? I have had to replace two of them so far, they had completely rusted through and broke. It's not like I live in a high salty road area. I went and bought a bunch of hose clamps to keep in the truck waiting for the next one to go.......

Take it from me....change them before they break. I had the lower radiator hose break in such a position that it took quite some time to get it off without doing damage to the radiator as well. Took the opportunity to change all the hoses and clamps. Happened at about 45,000 miles. PITA.

Can't stand it when FoMoCo tries to save a half a cent on a lousy clamp. They did a similar thing on my dad's ranger when they used mild steel terminals on the climate control. Stupid thing corroded and caused another PITA that could have been avoided with a little copper.

Yes.

I had both lower rad hose clamps fail within a couple weeks of each other. I couldn't believe it.

I can't remember when I ever had a hose clamp fail before....always the hose itself.

Yup, I had a lower radiator hose clamp break on me on the way home from the dealorship right after I picked up y NEW 250. Went right back and they fixed it and refilled the radiator. I should but still haven't replaced the other clamps. i guess i like tempting fate.
