Where does this wire go??

Anybody know where the red/green wire goes (next to the yellow one on the two plug connector)?

It’s up by the starter solenoid. Also, anybody got a good wiring diagram for the 1973’s, been a little difficult finding a good one. <o></o>

I've looked, like I said "difficult finding a good one".

1973 Does not exist here: <o></o>
http://fordification.net/tech/wiring.htm<o></o>

I'd venture to say, I'm not the only who has difficulty with this:<o></o>

Take it for what’s it worth, at facevalue or not, I’ve spent more time than I care to admit searching for the right(1973) wiring diagram, easy to read, comprehensive and accurate.

Most of what I’vefound have all been 1969-1972 or 1974-1979.

Just use this one... not much changed btwn 73 and 74 save for the addition of electronic ignition.

The yellow is a horn wire. the Gr/R comes from the voltage regulator. . There should be a corresponding plug resting on your inner fender... in fact, it's at the top left of your picture!

here's another with more detail. It's shown at the bottom left of the layout:

That’s what I was afraid of, just needed to verify “what's what”. While I’m upgrading the ignition to Pertonix I’ve got the main wiring harness opened up, replacing the resistor wire and fixing/replacing terminals and connectors as I go. Right at the Gr/R wire, the PO used a quick splice connector up to the electric choke. Not my first choice and I really don’t care for quick splice connectors (just a personal preference) but I think they are pretty much crap.

I do appreciate the diagrams, I found the 74 Chapter 12 diagram. I usually try and stay within years but that’s good info to know that there just about the same. I’ve been bitten before assuming “it was close enough”. I may just run a line from the ignition switch to the choke, been a long day and need to think about it some more. Thanks again!
