Do guys with stacks keep a bucket in the bed to cover the stack when it rains? Or do they just plow all the black water all over their truck after a good rain?
i drilled a little hole in the 90*, i have yet to cover my stack, and yet to douche my truck lol
You're correct, I don't like stacks, but I'm not trying to tell you not to do it. I know a lot of people like them. I do like to see pictures though. Every now and then I see a set that looks pretty good.
The stack I am using will be with a curved end . This should keep some rain out . I also plan on having a small hole at the lowest spot for some extra "whistle "... I mean drain :-)

How big of a hole did you drill that the soot doesn't plug it? 1/2"
like half the size of a pencil...whatever size that is and it surprisingly hasnt gotten clogged yet but we also havent had a good rain since ive put it on in MD

I drilled a 1/8" hole in my brothers exhaust back in the day when we did stacks for the first time on his truck. It never clogged and drained off the water pretty fair. I've never drilled a hole in mine. My stack spits black water everywhere during or after a good rain. I can let it idle for 30 minutes and still when I rev it up it will shoot water about 6 foot in the air. Lol. Yes, it covers the truck.
This is just the top of the tool box after a light rain. The top of the cab and passenger side of the truck usually get soot all over it also.
if the water stays in there it could be like a big bong and make the exhaust less deadly, they should make something like that...oh wait, but i can just imagine that 6ft fountain and i lol'd
on my 88 i took 2 3 inch 90's and cut them in half, then welded them together to make a "T-Y"that i them put on the down pipe rite behind the t-case. came off each leg with 3 inch pipe to a 90 that went up to another 90 at the top of the frame. then solid pipe back to the bed to another 90 up into the bed. on the bottom of the 4 inch stacks was a 3-4 adapter that went through the floor of the bed connecting to the 90all pipes were welded except for the 90's at the bottom of the stacks, they were on band clamps for easy replacement. the replaceable ends had 1/8 water weep holes drilled in them to drain the water out.
