Need NP435 shifter education!
I need a good shifter for my 1967 F-250 4WD with NP435 transmission. My original shifter is so worn in the pin slots, that I can rotate 10 degress either direction…makes finding 3<sup>rd</sup> a roll of the dice. I bought a really nice shifter off ebay (supposed to be off a ‘75 highboy) and when it arrived, I see that the part reaching into the shift gates is about an inch shorter than my original. Let my education begin! I welded and re-machined the worn slots in my original shifter to get me by until I can find a nice replacement. Does anyone know if there were more than 2 different lengths? NumberDummy? Anyone have a shifter for sale? MikeC

Ha, I had a guy weld my shift stick ball up also using ss rod then, I recut the pin slot with a file until it all fit into the ball socket top opening. And replaced the lock cup & boot.
I was at a truck parts house sold new & used parts that had a 5 gal bucket 1/2 full with a price that said 50 bucks for a used one. That when, I rebuild mine about 17 yrs ago.
Have moved on to dodge/chevy Nv4500 5spd over drive.
I find one good one out of maybe 40 trucks that are 2wd with a good stick shift lever at the junk yards.

1967 to early 68 4X4's used shifter lever number C7TZ7210J. 15 13/32" up from fulcrum ball and 4 3/4" from top of fulcrum ball to end. Late 1968/71 took part number C8TZ7210AA. 15 1/4" and 4". C8TZ7210AA was replaced by D2TZ7210F lever and D2TZ7222C tranny top cover. D2TZ7210F was replaced up to the D9TZ7210D. Which fit 1973/79 Dents. SOOOO, tell your seller you need the top cover off his tranny to make the lever he sold you work.
