Since I needed to add some relays for lights, I decided to make it look as factory as possible. Got a power distribution box from a 2000's grand marquis (mustangs use a similar box) took it apart, cleaned it up, repined it and made it work how I wanted it to. Want to put a larger cable from the starter relay to the power stud on the box, but it works well. Uses a busbar, so basically no inline fuse holders. Uses ATC fuses and ISO relays, and includes a spot for a circuit breaker. might be a good idea to grab another box for additional terminals. The terminals need to be pushed up and the tangs need to be carefully depressed, otherwise they will break VERY easily. Most of the wire that was in the box is 10-12 gauge. Only modifications I made was I punched a holes in the plastic inner, relocated the jack to my tool box and moved a clip on the blower motor housing. Its kinda close to the hood spring, but does not get anywhere close to rubbing.
That last pic.. boy aint it fun? lol... did the same thing, was a nightmare, but worth it in the end. Now supporting, e-fuel, e-fans, headlight relays, and a spare for water meth or a inverter or something.

Shoot, I actually enjoyed it to be honest, lol. Not hard once you figure out where you want your fuse and where you want your relay. use the same colors for trigger wires, black for ground. Tried making the 5-relay F series box fit, but it was just too tight.
The one i got was out of a mid 90s explorer, long and narrow, fit real nice right next to the stock fuse box. Only thing i dont like is there are only maxi fuses (great big ones) and minis (real tiny PITA ones). That said, dont really need the minis, just the maxis for what im using anyway. Also the "blocks" in the fuse box interchange, so i was able to pull another relay block from another explorer, so i have double the relays slots, as i didnt need the micro switch and mini relays that were in there.
Still have some looming and cleaning up to do, but the hard part is done. Going to do the engine bay up all nice once i get the engine out. FYI I HATE wiring lol
