Sorry Apoc, it's not allowed for anyone to post any fundraiser link. Wounded Warrior, Convoy of Hope...it doesn't matter how noble the cause, it's not allowed.

I am not on FTE as much as in the past, but would like you to know that in ALL things God is in control!
My nephew came into this world and immediately started turning blue. He was life flighted from Kodiak, Island to Anchorage Alaska. They determined his lungs were not conveying oxygen to the blood. They gave him a transfusion, and life life flighted him to Salem Oregon, as that was the closest heart lung machine. His lungs collapsed, and he was not expected to make it. But he too had MANY people praying for him. He is now 12 years old, smart as a whip. He does suffer from cerebral palsy, yet he is now walking and getting around well, though he has had many many surgeries to correct the effects of the palsy. But he is the happiest must fun loving 12 yo, even though he can't run around as much as his cousins and friends. He is a miracle! The doctors originally said he would never walk, talk, hear or see, and now he does them all! Praise God for miracles!
We will continue to pray for Elsie!
Ps, my son will graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp next month, and we are retired USN. Semper Fi!
Awesome news the whole family is home together. Best wishes for her continued recovery.
A short story of a similar situation:
My wife's uncle had a difficult birth and was not expected to live through the delivery. He made it. Then they said he wouldn't make it the rest of the day. He made it. Said he probably wouldn't make it through the week. He made it. Then a month, a year. A year passed. He made it. The doctors said there will be be too many issues to overcome. Let me tell you right now that rascal made it to a ripe old age and was dear to everyone around him. I met him when I met my wife and we became instant friends. I am certain the love and dedication of his family and friends was the driving force in him living such a productive and happy life. I hope and pray your situation will turn out as good or better than uncle Bobby's.
Garry, was the heart lung machine your nephew was on an ECMO machine, by any chance?
Sorry, but I do not remember... It has been 12 years, and I was out to sea alot on the Submarine then, so I only got tidbits here and there. Got the whole story a few times from different people after moving to Kodiak when I retired for Uncle Sams Navy.

Was looking through some of my old posts and realize I haven't really kept people informed on what has taken place. Elsie had her surgery for her feeding tube last summer. She was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy back in January. Elsie is a fairly happy baby considering all the stuff she has been through in her short life. We continue to involve her with therapy, anywhere from two to five times a week. I wanted to say thank you again for everything this forum has done for me over the last two years, thank you so much.
Thanks, Steve, for the update. Always great to hear more about God's Miracles- especially the "small ones"
Our daughter was 1lb 11.5oz when she was born 2 months early. She was very small most of her life and even now at 15yrs old, she is the size of other kids several years younger.
For the first year she had to be held 24hrs a day and had many digestive issue, some still today.
Being small becomes a way of life and isn't really much different than being brunette or blonde after a while. We just have to make sure she eats protein and as much as she can typically handle as often as she can tolerate it.
It looks like Elsie is happy and loves having brothers
Each person's journey is different and it looks like you guys are on one that isn't "dull" (My wife says, "It's always and adventure")
We will continue to pray for you and your family and wish you lots of hugs and snuggle time with your kids. The best miracles are the ones you get to hug!
May God Bless you and your family and guide you through each day
Continued Prayers for your family BigGreen. I will also be praying for all the forum folks who are dealing with their own issues as well. God bless all of you fine people.
