Just saw this, and I'm praying for your family.
You know, we all come here to talk about our trucks and such, but at the end of the day, they are just trucks. If my Ex blew up today, I can go get another one... Families are irreplaceable.
I hope to hear good news about answered prayers.
Thank you all for your prayers and positive thoughts. I am at home right now with my 3 boys and realized I hadn't checked in here lately; my daughter is still at the hospital, but my boys needed us also. My wife and I are returning to the hospital on Monday morning. Elsie's MRI results were not as favorable as we had hoped, unfortunately there is evidence of brain injury. We are being told that there is no crystal ball for this and how she will be effected will only be told with the passing of time. We have a long road ahead of us, one that is not traveled by many people, it will be Elsie's journey and no matter how long or short or winding or straight or back tracking it is she is my daughter and I will guide her every step of the way. Your continued prayers and positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as positive as my family is trying to be I am truly afraid and scared about the future and believe me when I say that is not an easy thing for me to say (there are some amazing benefits to Internet anonymity during times like this) thank you everyone.
As I sit here and read this I cannot imagine your fear. It is said all the time but PLEASE have faith that God will take care of your Daughter and your Family. Trust in the Lord. He does NOT make mistakes. Everything happens for a reason even though we sometimes cannot see it. Prayers sent for you and Family.
Hey Brother, Prayers sent not only to your family but to the hands being used everyday through this trying time. May God lay his hands on your babygirl to protect her and heal her.
Continued prayers. My oldest son had some severe issues at birth and when discharged from the hospital when he was a month and a half old, the doctors predicted he'd live life in a vegetative state. Through faith and the power of God, he is now 18 years old, graduated high school, and working construction full time. There were and sometimes still are hard times, but overall he has been a miracle! Keep the faith!
Glad to see that the story is continuing and that the prayers are going answered. We'll keep you in ours in this house for the rest of our days, no need to ever stop praying for a friend.
A little but of an update, my daughter looks as though she is going to need surgery to install a more permanent feeding tube. Children's Hospital will not do this until she gains 5 more pounds, so we were going to be discharged, but because of our wonderful health care system if my daughter is not hospitalized for 30 consecutive days she will not qualify for long term care or supplemental insurance. The doctors and staff have spoken with us about keeping her here for physical therapy until the 31 day mark, we were told that if we don't qualify for long term care because of the time requirement it would bankrupt us, we were told it would bankrupt even some of the most financially well off families they know with the amount of care my daughter is going to require. So we are here for the foreseeable future, we will then go home and when my daughter gains five more pounds we will then go to Children's Hospital and get her set up for surgical installation if a feeding tube. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts.
So many funny jokes/memes/pictures I could post about our healthcare system and big pharm but this is not the time or the place nor will it ever really be. The selfishness of that 0.1% running the healthcare industry trying to make their world perfect and killing the rest of us in unforgivable. There are to many horror stories and I pray as hard as I can that you don't become yet another one... however if you do I can only hope that you come out of it with your child in your arms and it will all be worth it in the end. Money is just paper, it means NOTHING! Your children are the most important thing, forget about everything else. God be with you brother.
PS: Fatten that little girl up so she can get better give her an extra pound just for me... I'm thinking Fettuccine Alfredo so she can start to appreciate the taste now so when she's in her teens she won't look silly ordering spaghetti and meatballs
Sending more prayers. Try not to worry, that is like meditating or having faith in a bad out come. It's not easy, but every time your tempted to worry, have faith in your daughter running, jumping, playing. Tell your problems how great your God is.
