I am going to replace my EGT probe to see if something broke off it. My exhaust wheel in the turbo was damaged a few weeks ago and have since replaced the turbo. Mtr runs good again so I can not think of anything else that would have caused this damage.
Need some opinions on weather to have the exhaust manifold hot or cold to do this. I am pretty sure the probe is going to snap judging by the rust. Hopefully not, but was wondering which would give me the best shot.
Probe has been in for about 10yrs.

When things look that bad then I consider heating up with Oxy/Acetylene torch,if its safe to do without damaging other parts or fire hazard, otherwise soaking in rust penetrate & working fitting back & fourth with wrench, while shocking with small punch & hammer,be patient.
Mix up some ATF and acetone. (Use rubber gloves). Apply repeatedly over several hours to cold manifold. Just before removal attempt, apply heat with small torch around sensor to heat manifold, but not sensor. Attempt to remove. Most of the sensors are either brass or stainless, so it may be possible to remove. Find a tap to match the threads, clean threads in manifold before installing new sensor. Welding supply stores have torches with small tips and hoses to connect to MAP gas or other gas cylinders.
