Cascade Cooling System

Anybody done this? Buddy said semi driver he knows does it regularly, didn't ask him if it's straight water or is coolant ok with it. Would like to drive the excursion a couple days with it but highs are like 10-15 an 0 overnight.

Cascade is great for cleaning it out if an injector cup or oil cooler lets go, but otherwise I don't see much point in it. A good cooling system cleaner like VC-9 is designed to clean deposits and silicate drop out and would work much better.

Should have clarified my oil cooler o ring went and put 4 gal of Rotella in my coolant lines, I was just reading the new phosphate free cascade isn't "as good" will it still work?

That makes sense now. I have used it recently and it works just fine. That is a time consuming job, good luck.

You don't need to run it THAT long. I usually run it about an hour at high idle, with a couple cups of cascade in it. Make sure you mix the cascade up with water before adding it, or it can plug the hose on the reservoir.
